Day 03  Badami

Today we drive inland to Badami, which is known for its magnificent rock-cut cave temples. This is the capital of the mighty Chalukya Empire and the red sandstone cliffs that resemble the Wild West. All of which are surrounding the beautiful lake and you can feel amazing old tradition vibes passing through the air (250 km).

Day 04  Badami

After breakfast, we will explore the famous Badami Caves and will drive around the town and water reservoir. After we will hit the road and drive around Badami to see the local way of living. Badami, once the center of the ancient Chalukyan glory,  is a sleepy little town on a red sandstone ridge. It is famous for its four cave temples that represent the secular nature of the rulers then, with tolerance and a religious following that inclines towards Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.

After we will drive to visit the Aihole and Pattadakal Temples. Aihole is Chalukyas’ first capital and has an amazing history and beautiful temples. The sculptures of Aihole temples have superb architecture and therefore famous as the “Cradle of Indian Architecture”. We will stay the night in Badami.

Day 05  Hampi

This morning we will be riding to Hampi, The way we like to ride bullet is not in a rush but rather in peace, calmly enjoying the ride itself instead of speeding to reach our destination. and that’s exactly what we are going to do today. we shall arrive to Hampi to a beautiful sunset between the huge boulders that surround the whole area. We will spend the night in this incredible place (150km).

Day 06  Hampi

It would be crazy of us not to dedicate one whole day to exploring Hampi, so that’s what we are doing. Unreal and magical, the ruins of Hampi dot an unearthly landscape that will leave you speechless. Huge amounts of giant boulders perch over the huge area of heaving terrain, their rusty hues offset by green palm groves, banana plantations and rice fields. While it’s possible to see the ancient ruins and temples of this World Heritage Site in a day or two, this goes against Hampi’s relaxed grain.

The local Hindu temples are far from deserted and the village that lies in the middle of this moon landscape is very colorful, and vibrant with life. We will be spending another night in Hampi, before leaving tomorrow.

Day 07  Gokarna

Today we ride west, back to the coast line to Gokarna, an ancient temple town and center for Sanskrit studies. It is located on the North Coast of Karnataka State. Gokarna means “Cow’s Ear “- It is believed that Shiva has emerged from the ear of a cow. Gokarna is a town of contrasts as it is a temple town and a holiday destination. The town has two main streets with temples, shops and traditional tile roofed brick houses. The heart of the town is a typical pilgrim center, flanked by small business, worship paraphernalia, souvenirs and foodstuff. A walk through the main street is a truly impressive experience (330km).

Day 08  Gokarna

Today we will be spending the day exploring Gokarna, and relaxing and unwinding on the beach. Visit the heart of this intriguing peaceful town, its old market and its bustling temples.

Day 09  Dandeli

We begin by cruising from the scenic Konkan Coast, and onward into the jungle of the Western Ghats. We find ourselves moving onto Dandeli today, which is an ideal destination in north Karnataka for those who love nature. It offers an incomparable mix of scenic beauty. The town on the river is surrounded by forests and a renowned wildlife habitat where rare animals and birds roam in deep valleys and hilly terrain. Dandeli offers white water rafting, night camps, nature walks, boating, bird watching, tiger and crocodile spotting and angling, along with picnics, eco-tourism, and trips to nearby caves and temples (160km).
