Trip description

Babha Pass Trek

Come along with us to the challenging route across the great Himalayan range via the Kalang Setal glacier to the Babha pass and down to the Pin Valley. Starting from Kinnaur’s meadows to the 4,865 meters Babha pass. The world looks so different from up here!

Explore Spiti’s most isolated Buddhist monasteries and villages. And lastly to end this Himalayan celebration we’ll go down Himachal Pradesh’s famous hill station, Manali to get a treat.

Itinerary

Day 1  Delhi

Flying independently to the chaotic, yet mind-blowing Delhi.

Day 2  Shimla

Arriving by train to Shimla, visiting Shimla’s temples, bazaars and handicraft shops.

Day 3  Sarahan

Enjoying the morning in Shimla, then driving to beautiful Sarahan.

Day 4  Kafnoo  
Driving from Sarahan down to Kafnoo, our starting point (~7 hours drive).

Day 5  Mulling 
Leaving Kafnoo and heading onto Mulling for the start of the trek. Camping on the banks of the River Bhaba (14km, ~5-6 hours walk).

Day 6  Khara 
Trekking with a variation of easy-hard walking. Walking to Kara from Mulling (6km, ~3-4 hours walk).

Day 7  Pushtring  (Bhaba pass base camp)
Trek through the Deodar forest after leaving Kara, shortly after crossing the Bhaba Kanda pass. Also visiting the Glaciers. Staying in Pushtring overnight (9km, ~5-6 hours walk).

Day 8  Balder 
Long trek leaving Pushtring, climbing to the top of the Bhaba Pass, continuing onto Spiti Valley, ending the day in Balder (16km, ~9-10 hours walk).

Day 9  Mud 
Leaving Balder and heading to Mud. Stay in Mud overnight. Last day of trekking (11km, ~4-5 hours walk).

Day 10  Kaza 
Short drive to Kaza after visiting and drinking chai tea in Mud village (~3.5 hours drive).

Day 11  Kaza
Staying in Kaza for the day, visiting nearby villages and Lang Dzu in the upper ridge. Visiting a local home also. After, heading to Danker Castle.

Day 12  Manali
A beautiful day drive to Manali after leaving Kaza. The view along the way is absolutely breathtaking!

Day 13  Manali
A relaxing day in Manali, the historic hill station city.

Day 14  Fly to Delhi
Flight back to Delhi

Day 15  Fly home
Flight back home or to your next destination.
